For 10 years, First Response to Fashion has united community, style, and philanthropy to raise awareness and critical funding for PTSD therapies and research supporting our frontline heroes.

Why We Walk the Runway

Behind the lights, the music, and the glamour lies a sobering truth.

• The rise in crime, addiction, and the opioid crisis has placed unimaginable weight on our frontline workers.

• Paramedics, officers, firefighters, doctors, and nurses bear witness to trauma daily—sometimes losing their own colleagues in the process.

• These experiences often lead to PTSD, mental illness, and heartbreaking rates of suicide.

Every step on the runway is a step toward healing, awareness, and hope. Proceeds from the gala will support HiMARC (Heroes in Mind, Advocacy & Research Consortium) through the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Rehabilitation—funding life-saving PTSD research and therapy for those who serve us every day.
