In 1962, Chevrolet introduced the 327 engine in the Corvette. While the jump to a V-8 in the 1950s had proved pivotal to the Corvette's ultimate success and sustainability, nobody could have imagined the impact that the introduction of the 327 V-8 would have on the last of the C1 Corvettes. The larger 327 V-8 produced power and torque that was unparalleled with anything seen prior to its emergence as the primary power plant of the 62 Corvette.This new 'Vette, when equipped with a four-speed and fuel injection, could regularly run the quarter-mile in under fifteen (15) seconds and achieve speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour while doing so, making it impressively quick at the time, and no slouch, even by todays' standards.

The car that you see here is one of 327 equipped vehicles produced in 1962, the top-spec carbureted version, making 340 horsepower. It is fitted with a Borg-Warner T10 four-speed manual gearbox.This 'Vette went through a complete restoration process, and now it's in mint condition. On top of that, it is a matching numbers vehicle, ready to take home NCRS Top Flight Honors, or a trophy at any show it attends. The bodywork sports the original Roman Red mono color and a white top. Both front and rear chromed bumpers show beautifully and comply with the factory specifications. In addition, the dual exhaust at the back sounds amazing while idling.

Inside, the occupants will enjoy the dual cowl dashboard, specific for the Corvette. On the center stack, the carmaker placed the heater, which is working correctly and will make a great companion while driving on sunsets, and the original AM radio is in running order.

At the same time, the interior was reworked to NCRS originality standards, which are not easy to meet. Its Red color matches the exterior. In addition, the bucket seats covered in vinyl are spotless. Of course, the matching carpets are new and respect the original specs of the beautiful C1 Corvette. Moreover, the cue ball on the gear stick is an excellent place to rest your hand while driving.
